The Creation Cycle (v2022.12)
The Creation Cycle is the most simple, comprehensive set of principles I have for consistent, effective impact creation.
It is built with the understanding that there are a lot of things we don’t know and that knowing all things is both impossible and unnecessary. Instead, we can implement practices of continuous experimentation and learning to deterministically make progress regardless of where we start.
It is a cycle of three parts:
- Observe - Understand what you’re trying to accomplish and the domain in which you play
- Create - Build experiments to better understand the domain / accomplish your goal
- Reflect - Reflect on the results thus far - how can the next iteration be improved?
This cycle represents the core building blocks required to make educated guesses and learn from the outcomes. There are no guarantees around how quickly the end goal will be accomplished - just that it will be accomplished with sufficient iterations.
